For his second pre-album single, "Mastaje," Sound Quelle breaks with the norm of a conventional 4/4 rhythm and, instead, delivers an off-kilter, yet equally exhilarating vibe to the dancefloor. No stranger to evocative, suspenseful grooves and emotionally charged chord layers, Sound Quelle once again treats listeners to these artist signatures, as well as more distinctive, song-specific touches, including an infectious (titular) vocal sample and an especially dynamic triplet rhythm.

As the song progresses, the percussive and bass elements work in tandem to create a driving momentum that propels the track forward. These uncommon patterns work to make a foundation in the track that is as restrained and minimal as it is dark and relentless. Meanwhile, the shimmering vocals evolve in both pitch and timbre, and more subtle vocal effects and textures keep working in and out of the mix to keep every beat feeling fresh and alive. When the main breakdown arrives, the listener is treated to the reveal of the refrain, "I am not afraid to die," a sentiment that is only emboldened by the fierce, yet poignant drop to follow.
