Without any doubt, Sound Quelle presents the most anticipated EP of 2015 on Silk Textures: "Allarg / Fog." Thanks to early radio support from Above & Beyond, in addition to its inclusion on our "Only Silk 03" album, "Allarg" has already become a fan favorite on our calendar this year. It's a thrill to finally release it in full, unmixed form, alongside the lush and deep B-side cut, "Fog."
Kicking off with an uptempo deep-progressive house rhythm and an unforgettable "cosmic" synth theme, "Allarg" is a mesmerizing aural journey from start to finish. The bassline really takes off at the quarter turn, while a variety of starry synth lines and martian-friendly samples add tremendous depth to the soundscape. The main break features a gorgeous orchestral theme, coupled with the cinematic spacial elements. Yet, the most memorable moment occurs when a newly added piano line is joined by an ethereal vocal theme. Who knew that getting abducted could feel (and sound) so great?
Fans of more "traditional" deep house will love "Fog," the super smooth, groove-happy tune that rounds out Sound Quelle's EP. The resonant bassline from the early going gives this one a wonderful dancefloor-friendly swing, while jazzy instrumentation and subtle vocal stabs give the midrange a buoyant and, at times, euphoric vibe. In the main break, a noir-inspired saxophone adds an incredibly evocative aura to the already blissful soundscape.
